Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

House of Treasures

Cao Fei 'House of Teasures'

Millennium Point launches its arts strategy next week with the not-so-little fella above.  House of Teasures is the first exhibition which aims to place contemporary art at the centre of the organisation’s public programming.

House of Treasures by Chinese artist Cao Fei, will be located in the central atrium of Millennium Point.  The piece is ‘a reflection on contemporary prosperity and abundance, balancing a serious commentary on consumption with playful interactivity.’ Visitors can enter the giant blow up pig through an opening in its side, finding within its belly several films by the artist. It is the first time the work has been exhibited outside China.

House of Treasures is presented in collaboration with Eastside Projects, who are currently exhibiting a new film by Cao Fei, Haze and Fog.

Cao Fei, House of Treasures, 5 – 15 November, Millennium Point.
