Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

Library of Birmingham Discovery season

It’s less than a month now until the new Library of Birmingham opens. I keep hearing things from people have been lucky enough to have a preview. I’m looking forward to seeing the interior and the 360 degree views from the top when it opens on 3 September.

To curate and produce the opening season of events, perhaps one of the most surprising yet best choices have been made. Capsule will be producing a mix of events, activities and performances for visitors on the theme of Discovery. The programme is inspired by the Library’s archives and special collections and will explore spaces across the new library.

The season will include musical extravaganza, Together We Breathe featuring brass players from across the region,  creative residencies with a space designed by Morag Myerscough, a Discovery trail of art works that will encourage visitors to explore what the library has to offer and much much more.
