Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

Post-Industrial talks

A few weeks ago I blogged about Post-Industrial Revolution, a residency exchange between UK and Polish emerging artists. The artists Christian Costa, Kamila Szejnoch and MASH/HER/DIP have been exploring the heritage of the Digbeth area. Their month-long residency with culminate in an exhibition at the Lombard Method. The preview will take place on Friday 18 February from 6-9pm. The exhibition will then continue until Sunday 27 February.

There are also a number of other events happening in the next few weeks relating to the project:

  • Artists’ Talk – Thursday 17 February 2011, 6.30 – 8pm, Eastside Projects.
  • Parent & Children Workshop – Sunday 27 February, 11am-12.30pm. Open to all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Workshop places must be booked in advance via e-mail: postindustrial.revolution[at]gmail.com

The call for submissions for British artists for the Gdansk part of the residency will be announced very soon. Keep an eye on the project website and blog for updates.

The Lombard Method can be found at , 68a Lombard Street, Digbeth, B12 0QR. It is open Thursday – Sunday from 11am -6pm. Admission is free.
