Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

No Impact Man

The Birmingham Co-operative Film Society returns on Thursday 13 January with No Impact Man.

I am trying to be more self-sufficient and eco-friendly, but Colin Beavan takes this one step further; he decides to completely eliminate his personal impact on the environment for a year. This means that he and his family become  vegetarian, buy only local food, and turn off their fridge. No lifts, no television, no cars, busses, or airplanes, no toxic cleaning products, no electricity, no material consumption, and no garbage. However…his family live in Manhattan.

The films sounds like it will be a fascinating insight into such a huge life-changing experiment. The film will be screened at the Birmingham & Midland Institute. Doors Open 6:45pm. Film starts at 7pm.
