Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

Brian Griffin: Face to Face

I had the pleasure of attending an awards ceremony earlier this year where the Birmingham born photographer Brian Griffin spoke about his career and offered tips to graduates in the creative industries. At the time he was looking for a location for a possible exhibition of his work. He was quite a character! From 30 September to 21 November there will be a retrospective of his work around Snow Hill Station. By the look of his work, it will be a very eye-catching exhibition.

His work, taken over 38 years, features iconic portraits of leading musicians, politicians and celebrities including Kate Bush, Brian May, Ringo Starr, Iggy Pop, Helen Mirren, Margaret Thatcher and Vivienne Westwood. Face to Face will be located outside Snow Hill Station, and there will also be two accompanying indoor exhibitions at Number One Snow Hill, the new development yet to be opened.
