Art in Judaism

As part of Heritage Open Days and European Days of Jewish Culture and Heritage, the recently consecrated Birmingham Progressive Synagogue will be open on Sunday 12 September from 11-4pm. As well as tours, there will be an exhibition of art by local and international Jewish artists.

At 4.15pm there will also be a lecture, ‘How Jewish Does Jewish Art Have to Be’ by Professor Melissa Raphael from the University of Gloucestershire.

Admission is free and refreshments will be available.  Birmingham Progressive Synagogue is at 1 Roseland Way/Bishopgate Street. B15 1HD.
