Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

Dirty Bristow Summer Fête

There is a new magazine coming.  There are no ads and no rules. Dirty Bristow, founded by Jon Bounds and Danny Smith is ‘dedicated to resurrecting the magazine as a fetish object, giving creative people the room to let their minds go’. On Saturday 28 August they will be launching the magazine at The Edge with an urban Summer Fête with, I’m sure, a hint of menace.

There will be a plethora of stalls and games including a raffle, splat the rat, tug o’ war, darts, teddy bear bungee, guess the weight of the cake, human fruit machine,  beer tent, vegetable competition, tarot readings and ‘Peg Holding with Pete Ashton’.

The night will also feature music from 8-Bit NinjasGlatze, Brumcast (DJ Set—tbc), The Gavin Wray Northern Soul Experience. Comedy from Tom Lennon, Harry Vale, Jon Bounds and The Punch & Judy Stylings Of Professor Michael Grimes.

The night takes place from 6pm ’til late. Tickets cost £5 and include issue one of Dirty Bristow. Tickets can be bought here. All money raised will go back into the production of the magazine. The Edge is at 79-81 Cheapside, Deritend, Birmingham, B12 0QH. You can read how Dirty Bristow came into being here.
