Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

Silver Apples

On Thursday Capsule present what promises to be a stupendous gig at the Hare & Hounds. Silver Apples formed in 1967 bringing avant-garde sound from a homemade synthesiser and drum kit to the otherwise flowery psychedelic scene of the time. They created what are now regarded as the first rock-orientated albums to use electronic techniques. As well as pre-dating Krautrock bands such as Can and Neu!, they have become a huge influence on such bands as Suicide, Spacemen 3 and Stereolab.

Supporting will be Birmingham’s own Pram, ‘astro jazz, sci-fi soundtracks, creepy Victoriana, tropical analogue and tumbledown funk.’

Tickets are £10 and can be bought here as well as Swordfish and Polar Bear.
