Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

The River Project

The River Project is a one day event put together by artist Babis Alexiadis. Along with 16 other artists and 138 performers from Birmingham, he has worked over 18 months to create an installation, including film, dance and performance. Dance rehearsals and animation workshops have culminated in an event that celebrates heritage and identity through dance. The project engaged with people from seven communities in the city and created a film which uses dance as a storytelling technique to represent voices from different age groups, ethnicities and genders.

The River Project will take place on Saturday 7 August from 6.30pm at Retort House, 9 Gas Street. B1 2JT. More information can be found on the website.
