Book Show is Eastside Projects next show launching on Friday 2 July. It is an exhibition that addresses the book as a physical form. The starting point is Ulises Carrión’s provocative series of aphorisms The New Art of Making Books (1975). Carrión was the founder of a short lived gallery and bookshop in Amsterdam which became the first major centre for the international artist-led publishing scene. He believed that each body of material to be made into a book must somehow be addressed to the display conditions that the book offers.
The private view is on 2 July from 6-9pm. The exhibition continues until 4 September.
