Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

The Good Art Gallery

The Good Art Gallery is a residency/gallery project in the Created in Birmingham Shop by Art Detection Services Ltd. which runs from Saturday 10 April – Friday 23 April. You are invited to bring art to the space (the little room at the back of the shop) and have it scanned by the art detectors. Art which is deemed good by the highly complicated and technical machines will immediately be displayed within the gallery. Work which isn’t…erm… you’d better watch the video below… All work must be wall mountable and ready to hang. Work can be from any discipline.

As a busy business on regular call outs, a representative from Art Detection Services Ltd. cannot always be at the shop. Although based in Birmingham, they travel the country art detecting regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at any other time at short notice. If someone is not there, you will be able to leave your art in the space, but please make sure you leave contact details.

The private view of the work deemed good in The Good Art Gallery will be on Friday 23 April at 6pm at the Created in Birmingham Shop. You can find out more about Art Detection Services Ltd. invaluable work here:

Stitches and Hos will also be having a knit-in at the Created in Birmingham Shop this weekend with cakes and tunage from Commercially Inviable Records and Kings Heath Radiophonic Workshop amongst others. Times are: Saturday 10 April 12–7pm,  Sunday 11 April 12–5pm. All are welcome, even if you’ve never knitted before.
