Kino Concrète is a free regular film night at Basement Bar which features unusual and neglected films. The night will include tunes from the Kino Concrète DJs as well as zines for sale and exchange.
The next event is on Sunday 4 April with a screening of Two Thousand Maniacs!, a film by the inventor of cinematic gore, trash maestro Herschell Gordon Lewis. Two Thousand Maniacs! was made in 1964 and filmed in 15 days in St. Cloud, Florida. The entire town participated in the film. Although recently remade as 2001 Maniacs, the original is kitsch, camp and macabre.
Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm screening.
