Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

Woodenbox With A Fistful of Fivers

This Thursday (4 March) Colour are putting on another great band at The Victoria. Woodenbox With A Fistful Of Fivers are a  Scottish sextet who have built a reputation for raucous live shows of rollicking folk. On their MySpace page they describe themselves as sounding like:

‘Beards being scratched, sleeves being cut from shirts and boots being stomped.’

Very nice :).  They have gained a great following from plays and sessions on BBC 6 Music over the last year and are inspired by musicians such as Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and King Creosote (who is incidentally playing in Birmingham in April). A band to watch. Catch them while you can…

Supporting will be local band Young Runaways. Inspired by Beirut and Arcade Fire they play powerful and heartfelt songs.

Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 and can be bought here or on the door.
