Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

Clare Rojas/Peggy Honeywell

From Wednesday 3rd February to Sunday 21st March Ikon Gallery will be showing the work of San Franscisco-based artist Clare Rojas . Her heavily folk inspired practice combines references from West Coast Modernism to Native American or Latino craft, outsider art and graffti. The walls of the gallery will be covered in a vibrant patchwork of painted panels. Paintings and decorated antique banjos will be hung from peg rails.

A colourful exhibition to banish those winter blues and hint at the promise of spring just around the corner!

On Tuesday 2nd February at 8.15pm Rojas will be performing at the gallery as her alter-ego Peggy Honeywell, beautifully delicate traditional American folk influenced by the Californian freak folk scene. Not to be missed.
