Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

After a successful run in London and Edinburgh, Mem Morrison Company & Birmingham Repertory Theatre are looking for up to 30 female volunteers to perform in its production, Ringside. The opportunity is open to all women over 18 who wish to be involved in a site-specific performance led by one of the UK ‘s leading live artists.

Ringside uses the celebration and rituals of remembered wedding receptions as its foundation. It explores issues surrounding autobiography, identity, sexuality, memory, culture and self-censorship. The female performers will play the roles of potential wives and wedding guests, and will be a vital element to the overall experience for the audience.

Rehearsals will take place from 6th- 13th of January at the Rep (mostly evenings) and the performances will take place at 7.45pm on the 14th and 15th of January at the Town Hall. There will be an afternoon dress rehearsal on the 14th of January and performers will be required at least an hour before the show on 15th January to warm up and get into costume.

If you are interested in taking part please contact Clare Lovell at The REP on 0121 245 2045 or email clare.lovell@birmingham-rep.co.uk.

Sounds like a great opportunity! Off now to brave the hoards for the last few presents. See you on the other side…
