Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

Oxjam Brum

Oxjam BrumOctober will see people all over the country putting on Oxjam events to raise money for Oxfam. It will see more than 2000 musicians fill over 150 venues in more than 20 cities in a single weekend. On Saturday October 24th it’s  Birmingham‘s turn.

Oxjam Brum is organised by a dedicated team of voluntary staff, with over fifty volunteers assisting on the day of the festival.

The festival will showcase the best local bands as well as up and coming national talent. There will be over thirty acts playing at over six venues across the city. All this for £6 and the knowledge that you are raising money to help people all around the world.

Acts include: James Summerfield, Is I Cinema, Dinosaur Pile-Up (who have recently been touring with the Pixies), Richard Burke, TantrumsBlak Can and Falling & Laughing amongst many many others

Venues for the day include The Flapper, The Prince of Wales, Basement Bar, The Victoria, Island Bar, Sunflower Lounge.

I’m particularly looking forward to the CD  bring and buy sale at The Flapper. You can buy tickets from any of the city centre venues or here.

Oxjam takes place from 2-11pm
