Premiering at Supersonic Festival this year, There Are No Others, There is Only Us is a monochrome video projection created by Marc Silver, which explores how we protect ourselves from a seemingly more chaotic planet. In a time where the world is ever more connected and unbordered, he considers whether crowds are a force for oppression, or a potential for restistance. The centerpiece of the film is a spectacular aerial dance of half a million birds, which will be projected at Moor Street Station, where 7000 commuters come and go daily.
In the run up to the festival, musicians were invited to submit their own 9 minute soundtrack for the piece, a selection of which will be played along with the installation. These include pieces by Andrew Moscardo-Parker, Stuart Tonge, Simon Fox, Matt Snowden and Sam Underwood. The piece has been produced by Capsule and Germination in association with Fierce!
The installation will be at Moor Street Station from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th July, 10am – 6pm daily. Free Entry. Like Flatpack Festival’s Installation trail earlier this year, it will be a great gateway for people into the festival.
