Highlighting under the radar arts and culture in Birmingham, UK

Another Bloody Party

mosquitoThis Friday evening (3rd July),  from 8pm Ikon Eastside on Fazeley Street, Digbeth closes its current exhibition in style. The show features Xu Zhen, an up and coming artist in the Chinese art world. Here he presents The Last Few Mosquitos, an installation which consists of a model mosquito, a parasite,  feeding off the walls of the gallery.

There is a blood red dress code and Bloody Marys will be served at the bar.  Is I Cinema are providing music as well as DJs throughout the night. I will certainly be getting my red summer frock out!

Earlier in the evening, around the corner, Eastside Projects opens with Joanne Tatham & Tom O’Sullivan:  Does your contemplation of the situation fuck with the flow of circulation. VIVID also opens with Participation, an exhibition and archive project on the emergence of new film forms, politics and practices during the 1980s.
