If you walk past the main entrance to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery you may notice that the columns are looking very cosy. Over the last three months Sara Fowles, Stitches and Hos and 400 volunteers from across the Midlands have been busy knitting panels to cover the columns. It has all been done to welcome and celebrate the Jamaican and American track and field teams training in Birmingham for the Olympics.
The K2TOG project was chosen to be part of Kalaboration, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jamaican independence as well as the Olympics. The knit graffiti installation will adorn the columns of the museum until the end of September.
