Yesterday in the Created in Birmingham Shop I came across the Story Exchange organised by Birmingham-based Needle and Thread Theatre. A large selection of second-hand books is available to peruse and to take. In exchange for a book all you need to do is to write a story for them. All manner of paper is available to write on, or you can type your tale on a typewriter. I was delighted to see some children using a typewriter for the first time. ‘Fairy-tales; folk-tales; fond memories and funny stories from everyday life are all welcome.’

The Story Exchange continues at the Created in Birmingham Shop until this Sunday 16 May.
